| NEW returned to the US for an evening event at the Fleet RISD Library, the new campus facility on the banks of the Providence River, once the banking headquarters of Hospital Trust of Rhode Island. The evening was made possible by the generosity of Krzysztof Lenk, who continues to inspire students in Graphic Design, and Carol Terry, Director of Library Services, assisted by audio-visual specialist extraordinare David Chandler. The program included presentation of video by artists featured in the last two issues of NEW: Milan Gryger, Jean-Max Albert, Miska Knapek and RISD-alumni Noah Fischer. Grégoire Paultre's 3-CD soundscape, debuted in the back room of Librairie Mazarine, was made from recordings of work by Joanne Kyger, James Koller and Norman Fischer. James Koller performed his poems with his son, Bert Koller, on guitar and banjo. Bert performed several of his original blues tunes. Piotr Kaczmarek spoke about his Leafless Trees digital photo collage featured in NEW 2_2006. |
