For the third year in a row, we celebrated the publication of a new issue of NEW in Paris at Librairie Mazarine, the fine art bookstore run by Pierre Durieu. Miska Knapek traveled from Helsinki to bring DVD versions of his time photographs, which were projected on the wall during the first hour of the gathering. Grégoire Paultre prepared a sound space in the back room made from recordings of Norman Fischer, Joanne Kyger and Gary Snyder reading their poetry, downloaded from several websites. Etel Adnan read the entire text of A Season in English. Eric Suchère presented new versions of his texts from ...un autre mois... in French. Miska Knapek struggled with the video remote as he explained his photography method. Gilles Plazy and Jake Lamar read rimbaud en silence in French and English. Olivier Delbard selected a day of crashing icebergs and seabirds from his French translation of Gary Snyder's Glacier Bay East Arm, Muir Inlet. NEW authors and artists Clay Caulkins, Jacqueline Cahen, Marie-Noëlle Fontan, Florent Fajole and many friends joined us for a fine evening.
