


Carrie Noland teaches avant-garde art and literature at the University of California, Irvine. She is the author of Poetry at Stake: Lyric Aesthetics and the Challenge of Technology (Princeton, 1999), co-editor with Sally Ann Ness of The Migration of Gesture: Film, Art, Dance, Writing (University of Minnesota Press), and currently completing a co-edited manuscript with Barrett Watten entitled "Diasporic Avant-Gardes: Experimental Poetics and Cultural Displacement" as well as a single authored book with the working title "Gesture and Embodiment: Making Culture Through Movement."
