Etel Adnan

Etel Adnan, a native of Lebanon, is a poet, painter, essayist. She lives in Paris, Beirut, and San Francisco where she taught philosophy at Dominican College. She is the author of many books of prose and poetry available in English, French and Arabic. Her novel about the Civil War in Lebanon, Sitt Marie-Rose, (Post-Apollo Press, 1982) is an extraordinary book. Her most recent collection is In the Heart of the Heart of Another Country (City Lights, 2005).
