Norman Fischer's long poem "Seasons" was written over the period of one year in a small notebook divided into four seasons. The size of the book influenced not only the length of the line used by Fischer, but also the length of the poem. When the notebook was filled in late March 2007, the poem was comlete.

When we prepared the poem for publication in NEW 3, the contraints of the printed magazine required use of a three-column format. For this online publication, we have reset the poem in a single column format.
